Write for Us
Write for this site
Our readers come to us for clear reporting and considered comment on news, education and the arts. They include teachers, students, parents, people working in cultural organisations, and general readers who want a plain account of what is happening and why it matters. They are not short of places to read; they come here because what we publish is accurate, specific and free of noise.
A contribution puts your knowledge in front of that audience. If you work in a school, a newsroom, a gallery or a community project, you have something worth saying, and a well-written piece here will reach people who care about the same things you do. If you want to write for us, the process is straightforward and the standard is high.
What we publish
- Education: classroom practice, curriculum change, school funding, assessment, and the experience of teachers, pupils and parents.
- News and current affairs: local and national stories with context, explained for readers who want the background as well as the headline.
- Arts and culture: exhibitions, theatre, music, books and film, including reviews, interviews and profiles of people making work.
- Community and diversity: stories about how different groups live, learn and work together, told without sentimentality.
- Research and policy: findings from education and cultural research, written for a general readership rather than a journal.
- First-person accounts: personal experience of schools, arts projects or public services, where the writer has something concrete to report.
Guest posts and sponsored articles
We accept two kinds of contribution. A guest post is editorial: written by someone outside our staff, chosen on merit, and edited by us. A sponsored post is paid placement, clearly marked as such and published because it is relevant to our readers. Both are permanent, both are indexed, and editorial links in accepted posts are dofollow. Sponsored posts are disclosed where the law or good practice requires it. Pricing is available on request, and our usual turnaround from acceptance to publication is three to five working days.
Guidelines
- Send original work that has not been published elsewhere, in print or online.
- Pitch pieces of 800 words or more. Shorter pieces are considered only for news items.
- Include one or two relevant links at most. We do not accept link-heavy copy.
- Nothing illegal, defamatory or misleading. Gambling, adult and pharmaceutical subjects are considered case by case and must be genuinely relevant to our readers.
- An author bio is optional. If you send one, keep it to two or three sentences.
- We edit for house style, clarity and length. You will see the edited version before it goes live.
If you plan to submit an article, read a few pieces on the site first. Our contributor guidelines are short, and following them saves everyone time.
How to pitch
Email guestpost@unidadenladiversidad.com with a subject line in the form "Guest post: <topic>". In the body, give us a short outline of the piece, no more than a few lines, and a link to past work so we can see how you write. Send the same to guestpost@unidadenladiversidad.com if your mail client does not open the first time. We read every pitch and reply to those we can use, usually within a week.
For questions about a sponsored post, a guest post or anything else on this page, write to guestpost@unidadenladiversidad.com. That address reaches the editor directly, and it is the only one you need for contributions.
